INSTRUCTORS

Randy Floyd, LSCSW, Founder, Clinical Level Therapist

Randy is the founder of Midwest Anxiety. He is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker who is an optimist and passionate about helping people focus on what they can do rather than what they can't do. Randy believes building a strong therapeutic relationship and tapping into a person's strengths are the most essential components of the therapeutic experience. Randy is passionate about changing the way we do mental health. He is focused on making mental health normal, a positive experience. He is also adamant about doing mental health differently. Randy believes the "old ways" suggest mental health is for the "broken" or "mentally ill." Randy believes that "Everyone Struggles." Sure. Some people struggle more than others, but everyone struggles with something. Taygun Ozakinci, M.Ed (“Mr. 0”)

Since 2013, Taygun Ozakinci (“Mr. O”) has established himself as one of Kansas City’s leading jazz bassists, recognized for his warm tone, expressive phrasing, and deep musical sensitivity. A fixture in the region’s vibrant jazz community, he has held residencies at some of the city’s premier venues, including Green Lady Lounge, The Phoenix Jazz Club, Black Dolphin, Chaz on the Plaza, Sullivan’s Steakhouse, and Eddie V’s Prime Seafood.

In addition to his professional performance career, Taygun has earned his bachelor's and master’s in music education and currently holds the title of director of orchestras in USD230. He is in charge of the orchestra programs K-12 the district and actively teaches all orchestra classes and other music classes at the high school level. His ensembles continue to receive numerous recognitions at regional and state level contests during his tenures. 

Taygun’s performance experience extends well beyond the club scene. He is a versatile and in-demand artist for weddings, corporate events, galas, and private celebrations, where his artistry and professionalism elevate every occasion. His work has also included featured performances for the Cities of Lenexa, Olathe, and Spring Hill, reflecting his strong connection to community and cultural programming throughout the Midwest.

With over a decade of professional experience, Taygun Ozakinci continues to bring a refined, soulful presence to every ensemble he joins. His dedication to the tradition of jazz—combined with a forward-looking musical vision—has made him a respected voice among audiences and fellow musicians alike.
