At Midwest Anxiety, our Partners are licensed mental health professionals who bring both clinical excellence and real-world experience into the environments where life actually happens. Each Partner operates with autonomy and integrity while aligning with our shared mission: to deliver accessible, innovative, and experiential mental health care.
Our Partners are not just therapists — they are clinicians who understand the culture, pace, and pressures of the communities they serve. Whether working with athletes, musicians, hospitality professionals, families, or students, they integrate their unique backgrounds and passions into their clinical work. This allows therapy to feel relevant, practical, and deeply personalized.
We intentionally cultivate a collaborative network of independent clinicians who value flexibility, professional growth, and creative approaches to care. Partners are encouraged to practice from their theoretical orientation and areas of expertise while contributing to a culture that challenges traditional office-based therapy models. Together, we are redefining what therapy looks like — mobile, community-based, skill-focused, and grounded in Cognitive Behavioral strategies that create meaningful change in real time.
Our therapists are clinically skilled, big-hearted, and genuinely enjoy what they do. Building a strong therapeutic relationship with you is our number one priority. We want you to like your therapist.
The skills we teach aren’t complicated or mysterious — they’re practical tools you can learn and use in everyday life. What truly makes the difference is the connection you have with your therapist. At Midwest Anxiety, that relationship matters most.
That’s why you get to choose your therapist.
Take a minute to get to know our Partners — and find the one who feels like the right fit for you.

Randy Floyd, LSCSW
Founder | Clinical Level Therapist (In Person Community & Virtual)
Randy Floyd is the founder of Midwest Anxiety and a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) who is passionate about helping people live fuller, more confident lives. Known for his optimistic and practical approach, Randy focuses on helping individuals shift their attention from what they can’t do to what they can do. His work centers on empowering people to move toward growth, resilience, and meaningful change rather than getting stuck in fear, avoidance, or self-doubt.
Randy believes that the foundation of effective therapy begins with a strong therapeutic relationship. When people feel understood, supported, and respected, real change becomes possible. He is committed to creating an environment where individuals feel safe to be honest about their struggles while also discovering their strengths. Randy’s approach emphasizes building on what is already working in a person’s life and helping them develop the skills and confidence to face challenges head-on.
A core part of Randy’s mission is changing the way people think about mental health. Too often, mental health services have been framed as something only for people who are “broken” or “mentally ill.” Randy strongly disagrees with this perspective. His philosophy is simple: Everyone struggles. Some people struggle more than others, but every person faces challenges, stress, fear, uncertainty, and difficult emotions at different points in life. Because of this, Randy believes mental health should be seen as a normal and positive part of living well.
Through Midwest Anxiety, Randy is committed to making mental health more accessible, more practical, and less stigmatized. His programs focus on teaching real-life skills that help people manage anxiety, regulate emotions, strengthen relationships, and build resilience. Whether through individual therapy, group therapy, or community events Randy’s goal is to provide tools that people can use in their everyday lives.
Randy also believes mental health should extend beyond the therapy office and into the community. He actively creates opportunities for people to connect, learn, and grow together through innovative programs that combine mental health education with real-world experiences.
At the heart of everything Randy does is the belief that people are capable of more than they think. With the right support, the right tools, and a willingness to face struggles, individuals can develop the confidence and resilience needed to move forward.
If you see Randy around, don’t hesitate to say hello — or better yet, give him a fist bump. You can also follow along with Randy and the Midwest Anxiety community on Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook where he shares insights, encouragement, and real conversations about life and mental health.
Meg Hefferon, MA, LPC, NCC
Masters Level Therapist | Independent Contractor (In Person Community & Virtual)
Meg Hefferon is a Masters Level Therapist with Midwest Anxiety who brings a diverse professional background and a deep passion for helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC), Meg has experience working across a wide range of clinical settings including inpatient hospitals, college campuses, K–12 schools, nonprofit organizations, and private practice outpatient counseling centers. These experiences have shaped her well-rounded approach to supporting clients in many different stages of life.
Before beginning her career as a therapist, Meg pursued several unique professional paths that continue to influence the way she connects with clients today. She worked as a Division I collegiate coach, taught English in Japan, and served as both a teacher and coach within K–12 schools throughout the Kansas City area. These experiences provided her with valuable insight into the pressures and challenges that students, athletes, and young adults often face, and they continue to inform her work with clients today.
Meg has experience working with individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, perfectionism, identity development, relationship challenges, and school or work-related stress. She also has experience supporting individuals experiencing developmental challenges and those who may be navigating suicidal thoughts or significant life transitions. Meg approaches these challenges with compassion, curiosity, and a strong belief that people can grow and change when given the right support.
While Meg enjoys working with individuals and families of all ages, she has a particular passion for supporting teenagers, young adults, and athletes. Her background in athletics and education allows her to relate closely to the pressures of performance, identity development, and life transitions that often occur during these years.
Meg believes that therapy should be a collaborative and personalized process. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, she tailors her therapeutic work to meet the unique needs, goals, and strengths of each individual she works with. Her goal is to help clients better understand themselves, develop practical coping strategies, and feel more confident and empowered in navigating their lives.
