Juliana Hahn, LMSW, Master’s Level Therapist, Independent Contractor (In Person Community & Virtual)

Juliana is a Licensed Master Social Worker.  Juliana began her career as a professional ballerina with the Kansas City Ballet before deciding to use her experiences to help others in the dance community. As a retired professional ballerina, Juliana knows that the high pressures of dance can cause emotional distress inside the studio, as well as in everyday life. Juliana firmly believes that dancers, and other athletes, should not have to choose between their passion and their mental health and they need therapy services that can be tailored to the specific needs of the dance community.

Juliana has a deep understanding of how struggles such as perfectionism, OCD, anxiety, depression, identity confusion, values struggles, eating disorders, and lack of balance are prevalent in the dance community. She knows how this impacts many layers of client’s mental health needs, as dancers and as a whole person. Juliana utilizes several modalities that are tailored to the needs of each individual client. These modalities include but are not limited to, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Strengths-Based, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Juliana also understands and addresses emotional distress that arises in gymnastics, figure skating, Ariel Arts, Cheer, and other sports. She provides a person centered, trauma-informed, culturally aware, and empathetic space for clients, and firmly believes that everyone deserves a place to feel heard and understood.
