Shannon Lieburn, LPC
Masters Level Therapist | Independent Contractor (In Person Office, Community, Virtual)
Shannon Lieburn is a Licensed Professional Counselor who brings more than 10 years of experience in education to her work as a therapist. Before becoming a counselor, Shannon worked as a middle school teacher and later as a school counselor, experiences that gave her a unique understanding of the academic, social, emotional, and family pressures that can shape a person’s mental health.
Shannon believes effective therapy should look at the whole person. Our lives don’t happen in isolation, and neither does our wellness. Relationships, work, school, family, parenting, expectations, and everyday stressors all influence how we think, feel, and function. Her goal is to help clients understand those connections while developing practical skills they can use in real life.
Shannon’s approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Reality Therapy. Shannon works with clients to better understand the relationship between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and choices while building healthier ways to respond to life’s challenges.
With her background in both education and mental health, Shannon has a particular appreciation for the pressures faced by children, teens, parents, educators, and families. She believes therapy should not simply focus on reducing symptoms, but should help people build greater self-awareness, confidence, resilience, and a life that feels more manageable and meaningful.
Shannon strives to create a therapy experience that feels supportive, honest, and relevant to everyday life. She believes people are more than their worst behavior or habits, and that meaningful change begins with recognizing where you are, identifying what’s not working, and finding practical ways to move forward.
