Megan Hurford, LMSW
Master’s Level Therapist | Independent Contractor (Office, Community & Virtual)

Megan Hurford is a Licensed Master’s Level Social Worker with over 10 years of professional experience across health care, education, child welfare, crisis services, and community settings. She believes that everyone has the potential to grow, overcome obstacles, and develop a stronger sense of confidence in who they are. In her experience she found it especially rewarding to help individuals recognize unhelpful patterns and develop practical tools to manage anxiety and discover their ability to navigate life’s challenges. Watching someone move from feeling overwhelmed or held back to confident and capable is one of the most meaningful parts of her work.

Megan enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults who are navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, and challenges with confidence and self-esteem. She has a particular interest in supporting active individuals, athletes, and those who want to pursue a healthier lifestyle but may feel overwhelmed, anxious, unsure of where to begin, or afraid of quitting (again). Whether you are working through anxious thoughts, unhelpful coping patterns, building healthier habits, or learning to believe in yourself and your abilities, her goal is to help you identify the tools and strategies that fit your unique needs and goals.

Her approach to therapy is collaborative, strengths-based, and focused on helping you make meaningful progress. She strives to create a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgemental environment where you feel heard, supported, and encouraged to step outside of your comfort zone to grow. Incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, practical coping strategies, psychoeducation, and goal-oriented action steps, Megan works alongside clients to identify patterns, build confidence, and develop skills they can realistically apply in everyday life. Therapy is not just about understanding what is holding you back, but about discovering what is possible and taking intentional steps toward change.

Outside of work, you can often find Megan running, strength training, spending time with ]her faith community, experimenting in the kitchen, and enjoying time with friends and family. She values personal growth, consistency, and the importance of having a supportive community along the way. If you are ready to work through obstacles, develop practical strategies, and take intentional steps toward becoming a healthier and more confident version of yourself, she would love to walk alongside you in that process.
