Does your child struggle with fears and worries, phobias, separation anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), or other anxiety-related challenges? Do you find yourself wanting to help your child push through these fears so they can become more confident, resilient, and independent?
Anxiety in children often affects the entire family. When a child is anxious, parents can begin to feel anxious too. Many parents describe feeling like they are constantly “walking on eggshells,” unsure of what might trigger their child’s distress or how to respond in a way that truly helps. Over time, this can leave parents feeling frustrated, exhausted, and even helpless.
If this sounds familiar, this group is for you.
In this group, we will explore childhood anxiety from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) perspective. You will learn how anxiety works in the brain and body, why certain fears become so powerful for children, and how well-intentioned parenting responses can sometimes unintentionally reinforce anxiety.
Together, we will identify the key patterns to watch for when your child is anxious, including avoidance behaviors, reassurance seeking, and emotional escalation. Understanding these patterns helps parents respond in ways that encourage courage and independence rather than unintentionally feeding the anxiety.
We will also discuss how parents can remain emotionally calm, physically neutral, and supportive when their child is distressed. Children often look to their parents to determine how serious a situation is, so learning how to model calm and confidence is one of the most powerful tools you can develop.
Throughout the group, you will learn practical Cognitive Behavioral parenting strategies that help children gradually face their fears, build tolerance for discomfort, and develop confidence in their own ability to handle difficult situations. These strategies are designed to help your child rely less on reassurance or avoidance and instead learn how to work through anxiety step by step.
Our goal is not to eliminate anxiety completely—because some anxiety is a normal part of life—but to help children develop the skills and resilience needed to face their fears and move forward with confidence.
By the end of the group, you will walk away with a clearer understanding of your child’s anxiety, a practical parenting plan, and tools you can start using right away to help your child become more capable, confident, and independent.
