Your teen would rather clean the garage. You’d rather do your taxes. But sooner or later, it has to happen.
The Sex Talk.
For many families, conversations about sex, relationships, and growing up can feel uncomfortable or awkward. Parents often worry about saying the wrong thing, sharing too much, or not knowing how to start the conversation at all. At the same time, teens are often getting information about sex from friends, social media, and the internet—sources that are not always accurate, healthy, or helpful.
That’s why it’s so important for parents to be the ones leading the conversation.
In this group, we help parents learn how to approach The Sex Talk in a way that is open, honest, and age-appropriate—without it feeling like a single uncomfortable lecture that everyone wants to escape. Instead, parents will learn how to turn the conversation into an ongoing dialogue that helps teens feel comfortable asking questions and thinking critically about relationships, boundaries, and responsibility.
We will discuss how to start the conversation, how to respond when teens ask difficult questions, and how to communicate your family’s values while still keeping the discussion respectful and informative. Parents will also learn strategies for reducing awkwardness, managing their own discomfort, and creating an environment where teens feel safe coming to them rather than turning only to peers or the internet.
The goal of this group is to help parents feel confident, calm, and prepared to talk with their teens about sex, relationships, and healthy decision-making.
Because while The Sex Talk may feel uncomfortable for both parents and teens, it’s one of the most important conversations a family can have.
