“What do you want for dinner?”
Chicken nuggets.
“What else do you want for dinner?”
Chicken nuggets.
If this conversation sounds familiar, you’re not alone. For many families, mealtime can become a daily struggle when a child only wants to eat a small handful of “safe” foods. When chicken nuggets (or mac and cheese, pizza, or one specific snack) become the only thing your child will eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you may have a picky eater on your hands.
Picky eating can quickly turn meals into a power struggle. Parents often feel stuck between worrying that their child isn’t eating enough variety and trying to avoid a full-blown meltdown at the table. Over time, families may start cooking separate meals, negotiating bites, or giving in just to keep the peace.
If mealtime has become stressful in your home, this group is for you.
In Picky Eater, parents will learn how to approach mealtime using a Cognitive Behavioral approach that reduces pressure while still helping children expand the foods they are willing to try. Instead of forcing or bribing kids to eat something new, we focus on creating a structure that gives children appropriate choices while gradually and consistently exposing them to new foods.
You’ll learn how to develop a Cognitive Behavioral meal plan that allows your child to feel safe and in control while still encouraging progress. This approach helps children build confidence around food, tolerate unfamiliar options on their plate, and slowly become more willing to taste and try new things.
We will also talk about how to reduce the emotional intensity that often surrounds mealtime. When parents stay calm, consistent, and predictable with meals, children begin to feel less pressure and more curiosity about food.
The goal is not to turn your child into a gourmet eater overnight. The goal is to help your child become more flexible, more confident, and more willing to try new foods—while turning family meals into a calmer and more positive experience.
Join us for Picky Eater if you’re ready to move from hearing “I’m not eating that!” to eventually hearing something every parent loves:
“That was good… I want more of that.”
