MWA Favorite Coffee Shops.png

#1. Messenger Coffee Company- If you visit coffee shops in Kansas City, you’ll quickly see Messenger Coffee Company brewed in many coffee shops. Messenger Coffee seems to be the Alpha Dog of coffee shops in KC. Though we enjoy the coffee, we enjoy the casual vibes of the 3 story building on Grand even more. On nice days, you can view the Kansas City skyline from their roof top patio. IT’S GOING TO TAKE SOMETHING SPECIAL TO KNOCK THIS BIG BOY COFFEE SHOP OFF THE #1 LINE.

#2. Monarch Coffee (Midtown)- You want sophistication? Check. You still want that chill vibe coffee shop? Well, you’ve got that at Monarch Coffee. This coffee shop on Broadway has that Broadway show feel but with the down home feel of a hometown coffee shop. Great for a business meeting or stopping in while taking your dog for a walk.

#3. Thou Mayest Coffee Roasters (River Quay)- We’ve been a long time fan of Thou Mayest. Their first location in the Crossroads was just so chill. As they’ve grown, their chill vibes have spread throughout Kansas City. We particularly like the River Quay location. When life gets a little fast, we sneak down to the River Market to chill things out.

#4. Filling Station (Midtown)- Love! Love! Love the vibes coming from this “garage” of a coffee shop. Think simple, college town feel, with a splash of hipster. Stop in the Filling Station if you need some time to let go of the pressures to be accepted, feel cool in all your ways, and just chill.

#1. Mission Taco Joint (Crossroads) - If its possible for Cali street food to find its way to the Midwest, Mission Taco Joint has succeeded. If you want that chill feel, MTJ has you covered. Don’t sleep on the food. The West Coast style street tacos and burritos will having you coming back again and again. The South Beach Burrito is our favorite ;) If you want a simple coastal experience, slide into MTJ.

#2. Westport Flea Market- We first visited and fell in love with “the flea” during the days when there was an actual flea market surrounding the burger joint. While the flea market is gone, the simpleness remains. Seat yourself. Need lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions for your burger? Grab as much as you want from the condiment bar. Don’t forget your cash. Credit cards are not accepted. Side note. If you forget your cash. They’ll let you pay in coins. I may or may not have paid for my entire meal in quarters ;)

#3. The Peanut- One of the few that were grandfathered into the favorites. We’ve been there do that at The Peanut many times. One of our faves from the jump. Can’t go wrong with the Wings or the BLT.

#4. Grinders- Pizza on Point. Vibes on Point Point. That back yard patio feel at Stonewall is a Feel Good Friday special.

#5. Coco Bolos- Street tacos + Margs + Patio. All good vibes here. Enough said.

Favorite Pediatricians.png

We are so appreciative of the coordination of care with so many of medical professionals in our community. They are all our FAVES.

Premier Pediatrics- We love, love this pediatric office. Our clients talk about the genuine relationships they have with the staff at Premier. We agree!! We’ve found it very easy to coordinate care with this pediatric group.

Pediatric Partners- We go way, way back with Pediatric Partners. They were one of our first pediatric professional partnerships. This is a fun, yet professional group ya’ll! We’ve done flash mobs with Pediatric Partners. We’ve also coordinated client care with them. They truly care about family wellbeing.

Favorites Donut Shop.png

We’re out making our way around the donut shops. We’ll let you know our faves shortly.

Favorite French Fries Logo.png

#1 Bates City BBQ- Just the right amount of skin and crisp to make them #1.

#2 Joe’s KC- That Seasoning scored a 9.4. go get you a bag. 👌

Favorite Pizza Places.png

#1. Minskys-Eat Well, Live Better. Handcrafted gourmet pizza. This pizza is meant to be savored not slammed.

#2. Johnny’s Tavern- I like BIG SLICES and I can not lie. Slice of Johnny’s Pizza is just that. Large and in charge. It’s tasty too.

#3. Grinders- Don’t sleep on Grinders Pizza. Pizza to Pizza, It might just a BIG as a slice of Johnny’s. Grinders seems to have just a bit more crisp that the other slices in the group.

#4. Buffalo State Pizza- You want East Coast Pizza in Kansas? Buffalo State Pizza is your place. Great crisp. Great ratio of toppings to cheese ratio.

Street Tacos.png

#1. Taco Republic- Patio Vibes. Patio Vibes. Patio Vibes. Oh and they also have great street Tacos? Enough to start it’s own category.

#2. Tiki Taco-Love the simplicity of walking up to this street taco stand, grabbing a couple street tacos, and then taking a stroll through the 39th street district. Totally reminds us what its like taking a slow stroll through a beach community.

#3. Mission Taco- Got more California flair than Ric Flair. Just a really chill place to have some street tacos + margs.

#1. Joes Kansas City Bar-B-Que- We love those local businesses who go from nothing to something. Joes KC is just that. No matter if you’re dining at their “Gas Station” location or have Joes championship BBQ ship to you, you’ll feel the pride of Kansas City in every bite. Oh and you need a recommendation. Get the “Z Man” and definitely the fries.

#2. Woodyard Bar-B-Que- Big fan of the Woodyard vibes. Always a big fan of the feeling you get when you venture out to eat. The vibes I get from Woodyard are very casual, comfortable place to hang with friends and family. Even though they have been on the Food Network and well recognized in the media, they definitely don’t 💪 it. Then you got the BBQ. The sandwiches are HUGE. LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN. THE SANDWICHES ARE HUGE! the taste is great. All great things to say about Woodyard.

#3. Bates City Bar-B-Que- We go WAY back with Bates. They had us early on with their skin on fries. Just going to leave it right there. SKIN ON FRIES!!!! As a father and sons crew, their vibes are just “down home.” They “don’t just serve food, we serve memories.” If you’re looking to roll up your sleeves and be treated like family, head over to Bates City for some delicious BBQ. Don’t forget the FRIES!

#4. Pigwich- When a sandwich shop shares a space with a butcher, you know that bbq is going to be 🔥. From the cornflake fried chicken sandwich to the pork brisket sandwich, you got a speciality (no assembly line here) taste for everyone. We are BIG, BIG FANS of that pork brisket sandwich. 😋

#1. Boulevard Brewing Company- We went back and forth about putting Boulevard at the top of our favorites. At first glance, you might question a big brewing company taking the top spot. How about give the nod to a smaller brewery? Well….if you go back to 1989, Boulevard was that small batch brewery. We love how Boulevard has evolved over the years. We love the variety of brews they continually test and offer. And their Beer Hall and Rec Deck is FUN, FUN, FUN. Cheers!!!

Favorite Ice Cream Shops.png

#1. Andy’s- I know. I know. Andy’s is not a local ice cream shop. Just can’t help it ya’ll. The kids always ask to go to Andy’s and thought that deserved the top ice cream spot.

Favorite Local Bands.png

#1. Yes You Are- We think their music is awesome. But their HEART even more awesome. I mean their lead singer also hosts weekly meditation group. A group we definitely jive with.
