Over the next four weeks, we will learn the basics of Anxiety while also identifying Cognitive Behavioral skills to use when anxiety is "tricking your mind and body."
We've made it easy this Summer for you to join the class. This class is held Live Online. No need to get a baby sitter! If you are traveling, you can still join the class. You will join the class from the convenience of your computer. When you join the class online, you'll see the presenter and the presenter's screen. You will not be seen or heard, but will be able to engage in conversation and ask questions through the class chat platform. So....put your comfortable clothes on, sit back, and enjoy.

We will discuss the basics of anxiety. What is the role of anxiety? What are the two most important concepts to win the "anxiety game?"
August 14, 2018, 7:00pm-8:00pm
Your thoughts can either accelerate or decelerate anxiety. We will discuss "anxiety is neither helpful or hurtful, it is how you think about anxiety that is helpful or hurtful." You will learn a new mindset of managing anxious situations.

Anxious feelings @&%#. Many times anxious people will do whatever it takes to avoid the anxious feelings of rapid heart rate, trouble breathing, sweating, and much more. We will talk about how to celebrate the anxious feelings rather than fear the feelings.
August 28, 2018, 7:00pm-8:00pm
Avoiding anxiety makes it easier for the short term. But long term, it just keeps coming back. We will discuss how seeking reassurance, accomodations, and avoidance is keeping the anxiety going.
